FOSHU Approved Products for Effect of Isoflavone
From Treatment to Prevention ---Many measures are being taken in Japan for the improvement of people's health.
One of such measures is the world first system 'Food for Specified Health Use' (FOSHU) started in 1991 under Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, in which a food recognized by the ministry as one good for the primary care of lifestyle diseases will be approved to indicate function and effect.
Since the start in 1991, the number of approved products exceeds 800, and the market size is said to have reached almost 680 billion yen.
Experiment data and other documents submitted are rigorously evaluated by a committee of experienced specialists. The approval of using the logo and making the health claim is only be granted to those foods scientifically proven to be effective for maintenance and improvement of health.
In 2001 Fujicco obtained the first FOSHU approval in the field of isoflavone which is subsequently contributing to the granting of FOSHU approval to the products of Fijiflavone users. We are proud of the fact that so far only products utilizing Fujiflavone have obtained FOSHU approval on the effects of isoflavone.One reason for this is undoubtedly our strict control of the composition of 12 isoflavones.
