Now at the animal study stage, according to a study by Nagoya City University Graduate School of Medical Sciences, it has been found that through examination of the stomach mucosal injuries of female ovariectomized rats (females are more resistant to stress) that were fed isoflavones, and on the 35th day of feeding subjected to water immersion restraint stress , the stomach ulcer index of isoflavones fed rats was observed to be suppressed to a level similar to rats outside the experiments, while in the case of rats subjected only to ovariectomy the injuries significantly increased.
When a rat is subjected to the stress, stomach mucosal injuries tend to start; it is known that the injury is more likely to start in the male. Even though a female is stronger to stress, when the ovary is removed and female hormone exhausted, the injuries develop.
The same effect is expected on the human stress induced stomach ulcer. In this study, isoflavones of Fujicco (Brand name, Fujiflavone) was fed.
