Menopausal Symptoms

Intake of Isoflavones prevents Atrophy of Mucosa and provides moisture

Human skin and mucosa lose moisture with age, become dry and prone to inflammation, and around menopause, when secretion of estrogen is drastically reduced, this tendency becomes particularly apparent. Atrophic vaginitis also much increases. Patients suffering from age-related atrophic vaginitis were given 60mg isoflavone per day for one month. The result of a vaginal pap smear test showed an increase of intermediate type cells' proportion, the satisfaction level of the patients was good, and the vaginal atrophy was improved. Also, through the tests of blood and urine conducted at the same time, it was confirmed that there were no adverse effects on the secretion of female hormones, nor on the functions of the liver and kidney.
