Occurrence of Hot Flashes among a group ingesting some amount of Isoflavones is less than half of that among a group taking a smaller amount
(Found also in a large scale investigation on citizens of Takayama, Gifu)

A large scale prospective health and dietary habits cohort study, involving 30,000 citizens of Takayama, Gifu, Japan was started in 1992 by the Gifu University School of Medicine. This study named 'Takayama Cohort Study' included examination of the relationship between soy product intake and the occurrence of hot flashes.
Among the participants of whose dietary details were collected and analyzed at the start of the study in1992, 1,500 women were selected and 6 years later in 1998 a follow-up study was carried out. The results showed that the hot flash occurrence rate of the group with highest soy isoflavone intake (isoflavone intake 50.8mg) was half that of the group with the lowest intake (intake about 20.5mg).
