More than 90mg Isoflavone intake increases Spine Bone Density of menopausal women

According to a meta-analysis of 10 randomized controlled trials conducted by the Department of Social Medicine & Education, School of Public Health of Peking University, it is reported that the spine bone density of subjects who consumed isoflavones increased significantly (20.6mg/㎠) in comparison to that in subjects who did not consume isoflavones, and that increases in the spine bone density with isoflavones intake of more than 90 mg/day and with treatment for longer than 90days were 28.5mg/㎠ and 27mg/㎠ respectively. Due to these results it is concluded that favorable effects for the spines of menopausal women become more significant when more than 90mg/day are consumed over a period of more than 6 months.
